JAZZBERRY TUNES
Established by Middle East Technical University students and graduates in 2014 under the leadership of Conductor Yiğit Deniz and Mustafa Çağlayan Durmaz, Jazzberry Tunes aspires novelty in its rehearsal methods, performances, and repertoire, and tries to expand the boundaries of choral music.
The choir sings contemporary and jazz works from diverse cultures and in more than ten different languages, including polyphonic pieces by Turkey's most venerable composers.
Jazzberry Tunes gave concerts in various cities of Turkey, attended national and international festivals, and was granted several esteemed awards for its performances.
The choir represented Turkey for the first time in Les Choralies Festival in France in 2019. In 2022, Jazzberry Tunes participated in the prestigious organization of the European Choral Association, Leading Voices, in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Most recently, Jazzberry Tunes participated in the World Symposium on Choral Music held in Istanbul in April 2023 and was among the seven Turkish choirs selected by the IFCM Artistic Committee to perform at the closing concert of the symposium.
The choir, continuing their activities in Ankara, is celebrating their 10th artistic season this year.
